Levels of Bending
When I begin to work with a student in private lessons or with a groups, I think of each person's "Level" of bending ability. Roughly speaking, these are:
Total Bending Beginner: "What's bending?" "Oh, THAT sound! Wish I could do it..."
Advanced Beginner (Almost Bending): Can change the note a little, but can't make it into a different note.
Can Bend a Few Notes: Usually the 2 in and/or 4 in on one particular harmonica, no blow bends. May or may not be getting "actual" bends.
